$2,000.00 for One Chaperoned "Date" with a 72 Year Old!

In February of 2008 I paid Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com), owned by the same Bonnie Wills, $1,999.00 (basically two thousand dollars) for matchmaking services.

Since then Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) has set me up on ONE "date", a date she joined us on. Yes, there were 3 of us on my $2,000.00 one-and-only Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) arranged "date". Incidentally, the man was almost 20 yrs. older than me and to my taste drank WAY too much.

A few months after that disaster, with literally nothing happening, I asked Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) for "at least a partial refund". Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) response was to say no and then limit our communication. When I managed to re-establish contact with Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com), she explained that, in Bonnie the Matchmaker  (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) land, my request meant that I had voluntarily opted out of her service and she got to keep my $2,000.00. Yes, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) actually said that. And yes, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) was serious.

Despite my shock, I explained to Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) that that’s not what I meant or intended, as my emails to her indicated. Just think about that: why would it be okay with me for Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) to do NOTHING for me while Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) got to keep my money? The least she could do is provide SOME of the service I contracted and paid Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) for. But no, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) wouldn’t budge and continues to insist that my request releases her from all contractual obligations while allowing her, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com), to keep my $2,000.00.

Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) continues to this day to do absolutely NOTHING to earn the $2,000.00. she took from me.

In an attempt to illicit a reasonable response from Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) I started posting my experience with Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) online
wherever I could. Unfortunately, that did nothing to get my money back. (Notice how the words "Bonnie the Matchmaker [now B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com]" and "nothing" are so often linked?)

It did, however, get Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) attention. At least enough that Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) attorney fired off an extremely nasty letter filled to the brim with lots of bloated, noisy hot air. Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com). attorney kept throwing the words "libel" and "slander" around like they actually applied. They even cited specific case law, which I think was an attempt to impress me. It didn't work.

Ever been bitten by a dog with no teeth? It tickles.

No attorney has the right to order me to do ANYTHING, much less give up any of my legal rights. Especially Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) toothless legal team. I will never "cease and desist" or in other words, sit down, shut up, and stop telling other people the truth about how Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) took my money and did absolutely nothing for it (there's that link again). According to my attorney, I have the legal right of "the defense of the truth" and am allowed to share the true, factual, and accurate story of my interaction with Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) any and everywhere and with any and everyone I choose to.

And that's exactly what I built this website to do. To continue...

In my ongoing quest to retrieve my $2,000.00 from Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com), I contacted the Better Business Bureau. After guiding Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) and I through an exchange of letters they reached the end of what they could do and wished me well. (Thanks.) To my surprise, simply replying to my complaint allowed Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co AND Findamatchmaker.com) to keep her A+ BBB rating. (What in God's name must it take to get an "F"?) I've posted all but the initial letter from me to the BBB on the BBB page of this site. (The first letter was from me and simply outlined the one $2,000.00 Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills &  Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) date that's the jumping off point of my complaint.)

I thought you should see Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) way of dealing with her multi-thousand dollar clients for yourself. After all, as Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) states on her own website, we're the elite, the professionals, and as such, shouldn't we expect a certain standard of treatment by the people we hire?

(By the way, have you seen her new B Wills & Co. website? Not to mention Findamatchmaker.com? In my opinion, they look like sites for an escort service. I think they're cheesy, cheesy, cheesy in the extreme. And the picture Bonnie Wills posted of herself? This speaks directly to the issue of honesty. In real life Bonnie Wills is pushing 70 years old, and there's a serious possibility she's now pushed it clear over to the other side. The picture she posted of herself has to be at least thirty years old. At least. (Didn't I hear something somewhere about truth in advertising somewhere?)

Be sure to read Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) response to the BBB inquiry. It's almost funny. At one point Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) writes "Whattza matter with you???"  Yes, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) is pushing 70 years old and this is the language she uses in response to an official Better Business Bureau inquiry. It's as jaw-dropping as it is pathetic. Where's Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) professionalism? Makes her "Put on your big girl panties" in the same letter look almost reasonable. Almost. Again, please read the letter for yourself.

SUPPLEMENTAL:

In August of 2009 Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) removed her physical address from almost all her online information.  Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) turned as much as she could into PDF files which as you know does not allow anyone to add anything, much less accurate reviews of her service. (Please note the dates of her favorable reviews. They are years and years old.) The old address was Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) at 13835 N. Tatum Blvd., #9, PMB 222, Phoenix, AZ 85032. Currently Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) is listed at PO Box 212, Cave Creek, AZ 85327. (I won't give out the other address she's listed because I think it may be a residential address, but I will share that she once boasted to me her home is so large it has 50 windows. I wonder which one my $2,000.00 paid for.)

I have to report to you I was shocked, absolutely shocked I tell you, at her move. It couldn't, just couldn't, have anything to do with the fact that the court required me to provide Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) with a copy of the Default Judgment Request form I filed after Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co AND Findamatchmaker.com) ignored the deadline to answer my initial Small Claims filing. After all, why should Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) play if Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) has no shot in hell of winning?

The post office then returned the Certified Return Receipt Requested envelope containing Bonnie the Matchmaker's (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) copy of the Default Judgment Request to me. "No Longer at this Address" and "Unable to Forward" were stamped on the front. Funny, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) was there when I initially served Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com). It was almost as if Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) had disappeared - just vanished - POOF! - into thin air.

Oh dear, I fretted to myself. Whatever shall I do, I wondered as I paced the floor, sweating profusely. It seemed Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) had outsmarted both me and the entire United States Justice system.

Right. Sure.

How pathetic. Did Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) really think the courts had never seen this before and wouldn't have a proceedure in place for dealing with it?

Unfortunately for me, I had to hire a professional process server for $250.00, which added to the original $2,000.00, filing fees, and mailing costs. Not to mention the cost of this website (ok, so maybe this cost doesn't bother me  as much as the others). Being a Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) client is costing me a big fat fortune. I might have gotten off easy, though. One former client of Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co AND Findamatchmaker.com) spent twice as much in legal fees as he did paying her, which bought his entire out-of-pocket loss up to $12,000.00. Yep, it ended up costing him Twelve Thousand Dollars for his one-and-only Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) date.

Hmm, am I noticing a pattern? One fee, one date, no matter how many thousands of dollars her vic..um, clients pay. How much might you pay for one lousy date? Heck, I don't know, ask Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) and her excessively busy window installer. To continue...

On the other hand, Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) was finally officially served. And her response? Bonnie the Matchmaker (now B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) filed a lawsuit against me for $20,000.00. Yes, you read that right - 10 times the amount she ripped me off for. Hell, if you can steal a dime why not try for a dollar?

What a lovely way to treat a cash-paying client. Will Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) decide to sue another of her clients? Would she sue you? Who knows? All I know is that there's nothing to stop her.

Of course the court kicked the case out, it being nothing but an obvious and heavy-handed attempt at intimidation. Like yeah, that works. I'll go away. Did Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) really think the judge wouldn't notice her lawsuit against me had absolutely no legal merit whatsoever? But what the hell, why not give it a shot? Filing a lawsuit is cheap, especially when you do it yourself, as she did. Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) could turn it into a hobby if she so desires. Anyone could. All they have to do is pick someone they'd like to get money from and fill out a form. All it costs is a few dollars in filing fees. Let the court sort it out.

Which they did. Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) lost her bogus $20,000.00 lawsuit against me.

Oh, remember the guy I told you about? The one who lost $12,000.00 trying to do business with Bonnie the Matchmaker (now als B Wills & Co AND Findamatchmaker.com)? He sued and won his initial $4,000.00 back. Now he's going after her for his expenses. I know we all wish him success.

Update 8-18-2010: I recently filed a complaint against Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) with the AZ State Attorney General's Office and received a reply yesterday. They're actually following-up! I encourage EVERYONE in my situation to file their own complaint. It's easy, online, and free. I think it's www.azag.gov Look for the "consumer complaints" section. Of course I'll keep you all informed as things progress with my own complaint.

Crucial Information: I have been told by someone who's already won a lawsuit against Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) that the very contract she has everyone sign is legally unenforcable because it does not meet the statues of law as written. This means everyone who is not satisfied is due their money back, just for the asking. But will Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co AND Findamatchmaker.com) honor your request? Or will she decide to head on down to the local courthouse for a couple of those oh-so-easy, cheap-to-file legal forms? Like I said before, I don't know. All I know is there's nothing to stop her (or anyone else) from doing so.

To all vic...um, clients of Bonnie the Matchmaker (now also B Wills & Co. AND Findamatchmaker.com) , I say KEEP FIGHTING! We have and will continue to win. We have the power of truth on our side and the legal right to share it. Unless ordered to by a court of law, I will never sit down, shut up, and stop telling the truth. NEVER. That's a promise.
